Her expertise includes in-depth & investigative research, story development, pitching, casting talent, interviewing subjects, working closely with writers & editors, fact-checking, script editing, archive research and producing, film producing and direction.


Carolyn's proficiency to conduct meaningful interviews & adapt to different environments, combined with her strong network of contacts comes from her journalism background.

Her work has covered wide range of contemporary social issues and has been widely featured in the Australian media including Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, SBS,, VICE, HuffPost, The Weekly Times and Broadsheet


Carolyn's work with Deakin University was formally recognised in the landmark report WHO GETS TO TELL AUSTRALIAN STORIES, and recently with Monash University on a report looking at ways to enhance diversity in the Australian screen industry.

Carolyn has been able to combine her academic skills and passion for creating a more diverse screen industry alongside the SBS Commissioning Team as a Diversity & Inclusion Researcher, where her work contributed to the SBS Commissioning Guidelines


Over the years, Carolyn has been selected for several programs and recognitions, including by SBS to undertake a 12-month Screen Producers Australia program, AIDC's Leading Lights, recognised in AA122's Honours List, a finalist for Melbourne Queer Film Festival’s Pitch Pleez and the Victorian Pride Awards.
