Carolyn brings a wealth of experience to every project. Her credits include Associate Producer, Researcher, Archive Producer, Field Producer, and more recently Director and Producer.

Much like a Swiss Army knife, she has a versatile skillset which includes: in-depth & investigative research, story development, pitching, casting, interviewing subjects, working closely with writers & editors, fact-checking, script editing, archive producing, film producing and direction.

Carolyn's proficiency to conduct meaningful interviews & adapt to different environments, combined with her strong network of contacts comes from her journalism background.

She's covered wide range of contemporary social issues and has been widely featured in the media including Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, SBS, news.com.au, VICE, HuffPost, The Weekly Times and Broadsheet


ACADEMIC & INDUSTRY RESEARCH

Carolyn's academic work has been formally recognised in the landmark report WHO GETS TO TELL AUSTRALIAN STORIES (Deakin University), and in an upcoming report looking at INCENTIVISING AUSTRALIAN SCREEN DIVERSITY (Monash University).

Combining her academic skills and passion for creating a more diverse screen industry, she has also alongside the SBS Commissioning Team as a DEI Researcher, contributing to the SBS Commissioning Guidelines


RECOGNITION

Over the years, her dedication to authentic and powerful storytelling and hard work has been recognised, including by SBS to undertake a 12-month Screen Producers Australia program, AIDC's Leading Lights, in AA122's Honours List, as a finalist for Melbourne Queer Film Festival’s Pitch Pleez and the Victorian Pride Awards.

Her directorial debut, My First Time has recently won Best Documentary at the Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Film Festival, and been official selected for festivals around the world including London, Chicago & San Fran.
